My Monday Makeover
I needed a new fall arrangement for the table on my back porch. I happened to think of an old candle holder that I've had about forty years. I quit using it years ago because it was antique brass and no longer suited me. Actually, I had stuck it in the closet when I cleaned out the attic and planned to add it to my next yard sale. I decided to see what a little black paint would do to spiffy up its character. I am posting before and after pictures for you to see. I'm pleased as punch with how it turned out and it sits so proudly in the center of my outdoor table. Hmmm, I guess I should see whatelse I can spray paint and reuse. Check back later -who knows what I'll find to paint. Isn't it fun!!!!

Autumn Greetings
My updated fall door wreath. A new sprig of this and a new sprig of that to spruce up my old wreath. I love it when I can take something not quite so new and freshen it up a bit to give it new life.

From Trash to Treasure
This week's yard sale finds. Aren't the great? My daughter collects transfer ware and I thought of her when I saw this cute plate. Ummm.... I'll have to decide if I want to keep it or pass it on to her. Isn't the little glass bunny adorable? Won't he be so cute filled with jelly beans in the spring? I'm lovin' the gold vase, too. I know just where I will put that treasure. I might (probably will) move it next week, but today it has a home.
Another "FUN" Find!
I found this botanical print and fell in love with it. I rescued it from an old hotel they plan to tear down. Hubby and I trapsed in and out of 100+ rooms looking for a mate. Oh well, one is better than none. I'm lovin' it in its new home on my mantel! (I thought I would paint the frame, but for now, it's happy and so am I.)

Old Wash Stand
I moved this old wash stand from the upstairs hallway to the breakfast nook. I needed a place to put my "stuff". It's fun to decorate with each changing season. This piece was purchased from our son-in-law's sister in 1993. It's oak and has lots of character. The fall platter is one of my "finds" several years ago. I serve our Thanksgiving turkey on it.
My Cozy Fall Breakfast Nook
This is my fall table in my breakfast nook and this is the china we use everyday. The green rimmed dishes are some I have had for several years. Once I used them in a plate rack on the wall, but after I changed colors in my kitchen and found some apple plates, I retired these to the cabinet. I change things around in my house almost daily. I thought the little plates would be fun to use with my fall decor. (They are one of my favorite finds - JCPenny marked downs.) I love a bargain and especially a pretty one.
The old oak table was given to us by my husband's brother. It was apart and in the trunk of a junk car. He refinished it and we have enjoyed it first as a game table and now in our breakfast nook. We found six old oak chairs which he also refinished to use with the table. I've thought about replacing it with a glass-top round table, but find it hard to part with.
